The procedure depends on your machine and its manufacturer. Read the manufacturer's cleaning instructions before you start.

Coffee machines without an automatic descaling programme

• Pour 20–40 g into the water tank, fill it with water and stir.
• Switch the machine on, draw 2 cups of water through the steam wand (150 ml each), then switch the power off.
• Let the solution act for 15–20 minutes.
• Repeat at 3-minute intervals until no solution is left in the tank.
• Rinse the tank with clean water, refill it and run about 1 L through the steam or hot-water outlet.
• Run 1 L of water through the coffee spout. If that is not possible, brew 3 cups of coffee and discard them.
• Remove the brewing unit (automatic machines only) and rinse it with clean water.

Household appliances

• Kettles: 20 g per 1 L of water, bring to the boil, leave to act, drain and rinse.
• Water heaters: fill the tank at the concentration given in the heater's manual, leave to act, drain and rinse.
• Irons: 20 g per 1 L of water, fill the reservoir, run the steam function, drain and rinse the reservoir.
• Washing machines: add the product to the drum at the recommended concentration, run a hot wash with no laundry, then rinse.

Service centres

• Add 400–500 g of product to a 10 L container.
• Carefully add 10 L of near-boiling water and stir thoroughly.
• Immerse each part separately, making sure the solution fills every cavity and the air escapes.
• Leave the parts in the solution for 9–12 hours for a complete clean.
• Rinse the parts thoroughly with clean water afterwards.
